Student Work & Research

Student research is enthusiastically promoted. Over this past year, mathematics and science faculty collaborated on various research projects with a number of undergraduate students, from freshmen to seniors, and many projects paid these students summer stipends for their participation.

Recent projects have included modeling the spread of infectious diseases and modeling cellular development in the brain. Some Mathematics majors collaborated with Professor of Mathematics Elsa Schaefer, who led one exciting research project involving the study of ways to eradicate cholera.
