Health Sciences

Marymount’s B.S. in Health Sciences responds to the growing national interest in prevention of disease through the achievement of optimal health and physical fitness. This major provides students with the necessary resources to educate the public on preventive health care through lifestyle modification.

Students will choose from two emphasis areas in the Health Sciences major:
  • Health Promotion
  • Pre-Physical Therapy
Marymount’s program merges science with application to prepare leaders in health promotion who can address the needs of a diverse population. Using contemporary approaches such as behavior change modeling, students develop 21st-century skills of today for preventive health care careers of tomorrow.

Upon completion of the program, students will be qualified to apply for health fitness instructor certification by the American College of Sports Medicine.
