Madres de la Revolucion was written by a 2016 Marymount graduate, Loera Lihach.  The play is based on the real-life story of a mother who led as a revolutionary commander in the Salvadoran Civil War.  The play details her path as a mother and revolutionary, her efforts to reconcile these two identities, and her 190-day prison ordeal marked by human rights violations.  As a tribute to Commander Nidia Diaz and the countless revolutionaries who fought for freedom, this play serves to carry stories across borders, to amplify unheard voices.
