Congratulations on your admission to Marymount University! You’re joining more than 1,300 graduate students from around the nation and abroad. This page offers some “next steps” as you get ready to start your graduate work. If at any time you have questions, we’re here to help. We look forward to welcoming you to the Marymount community.
Confirm Your Attendance
Make sure you complete the enrollment form and submit your program deposit, if applicable. This will trigger a series of communications to you about registration, orientation, resources on campus, etc. If a deposit is required for your program, this would have been indicated in your official admissions letter and the e-mail that included the Welcome Packet.

Complete your FAFSA
If you plan to apply for financial aid, grants, or scholarships, please fill out the FAFSA form as soon as possible.
University-sponsored housing is available for full-time graduate students. A $300 deposit and housing application are required to reserve your space.
All students will be given a Marymount e-mail account. It is important that you check your MU account frequently since all University e-mail correspondence will be sent there. Information about setting up your account is available through Information Technology Services.
Getting to Campus
The Main Campus and Ballston Center are located near the DC Metrorail system. Free shuttle service is available to all MU students for transit between the Metro and Ballston and Main Campus locations. If you need to drive to campus, a paid parking permit is required. Open registration periods for graduate students vary each semester. Registration dates are listed on the Registrar’s website. You must accept admission and submit your program deposit, if applicable, in order to register for classes. Information on registration and accessing Marynet, the class registration system, is available here or in your New Student Packet.
A Graduate Welcome is offered every spring and summer. We urge you to attend to meet the graduate school faculty, staff, other students, and learn about campus resources. Some programs offer program-specific orientations. Please be sure to check the Orientation website or look for information to be sent to you from the Graduate Admissions Office.
Second-degree Nursing Students:
There is a customized Orientation experience for those enrolled in the accelerated second-degree B.S.N. program on Aug. 27. Once you have been accepted and have completed your enrollment form and deposit, you’ll receive information from the School of Health Professions regarding the advising, registration, and orientation process. If you haven’t visited, we encourage you to do so. Tours are availible of the Main Campus and of the Ballston location, to schedule an appointment please call (703) 284-5901. You will also have an opportunity to take a tour during Orientation.
