Career classes and workshops are a great way to build your career development skills.

Our professional staff offer these events to support the career development activities all students, both undergraduate and graduate.

Spring 2017 Career Classes and Workshops

Applying for Campus Leadership Positions Workshop

Tuesday, January 24th, 2pm – 3pm, St. Joe 105

Please attend this workshop if you are interested in applying for RA, Orientation Leader, or Peer Mentor for the fall.  It will cover what to include in your resume, your cover letter as well as references and letters of recommendation. 

Resume Writing Class

Tuesday, January 31st, 4pm – 5pm, Rowley G206

We will go over all the basics of how to write a resume – what to write, and how and where to write it.  It will also cover how to write a good cover letter. 

Summer Internship Prep Class – Students in the School of Business

Business Administration (Accounting, Business Law, Finance, General Business, Hospitality, International Business, Management, Marketing, Sports Management)

Not sure where to start looking for an internship?  In this class we will go over good places to search for business and IT internships.  It will also cover how to apply including how to tailor your resume, apply online, and some interview tips.

Interview Workshop

Do not be nervous about your interview!  We will cover how prepare and how to make the best impression during the interview.  We will also touch on different types of interviews as well as different formats for interviews

This workshop will cover where to look for jobs and internships – job boards, LinkedIn, networking sites, and informational interviewing. 

LinkedIn Workshop

Time to create your LinkedIn page!  In 2015 over 90% of employers used LinkedIn in some way to hire candidates.  We will go over ways to make your profile effective, the job search feature, the alumni search feature and how to network using LinkedIn.
